A New Workout Experience

I went to Curves today for my first visit/workout. It took about an hour (rather than the normal 30 minutes) because of visiting with the trainer and going through the circuit with instruction. I’ll go in tomorrow for my first real workout.

It’s kind of an interesting concept. I’m reserving judgment as to how well it works in the long run, but it definitely is something different and new. I can see the advantage for me for those days I am so stressed or pressed for time, because those are the days I blow off exercise. I tend to have an “all or nothing” mentality…if I don’t have time to work out for a full hour, then there’s no point in starting…so I do nothing. This is a different approach. If this at least gets me to do something on those days, that will be great.

And you know what the best part is? They don’t have any mirrors! Hah!

Today was a good day overall. Food has been good this week, and with the new workout opportunity, I think I should be able to stay on track.

I’m a bit annoyed with the television schedule these days. Can't they space all these decent programs out a bit...instead of putting everything on at the same time? Tonight it's overlapping American Idol, Biggest Loser, and Dancing with the Stars. We can only DVR one at a time while we watch another. Hubby (who hates BLBE) claims he’s got it worked out so we can watch Idol, record Dancing, and also record the last half hour of BLBE (the weigh-in is really all I care about). We’ll see if he succeeds. I hope so, otherwise there will be hell to pay (ha ha).

Have a good night…see you tomorrow!

  1. Congrats on a good day. I did curves for a while. I liked it okay. It's especially good if you are getting back into exercise.

I agree on the TV show lineup. I watch all the shows you watch. I let go of Dancing with the stars even though we can tape two shows at a time. For some reason I like watching American Idol live and I tape Biggest Loser. I also tape a lot of other things, so many I get behind. Anyway.. Hope you have a good rest of the week.

  2. I hope you enjoy your Curves work outs. I was debating last month whether to join or not. I passed since I really want to work out on my own and for longer periods.

I've been recording the last half of BL too. I can't miss NCIS! :)
