Happiness is a Choice

"You don't drown by falling in the water...
You drown by staying there."

I just found this quote and it struck me as words to live by. Although I'm looking at my past, I don't need to wallow in self-pity and anger. I don't need to wait until I have all my "issues" completely addressed before I can be happy.
I can be happy now.

This weekend has been rather nondescript as far as "healthy living" goes. I’m actually excited to go back to work with a normal schedule (no special activities going on) at least for the next few weeks. It is my intention to focus on eating right and having good workouts this week.

The weather was beautiful today, but it rained Saturday and it’s supposed to rain again tomorrow. I’m actually thinking about joining Curves. There’s one not too far from where I work. I just need to have some interesting options when the weather is bad and walking outside is not very appealing. There is the treadmill and weight room at work, but it’s often so crowded and specific pieces of equipment are sometimes not available. Does anyone have any experience with Curves, and if so, would you recommend it?

We are planning on attending hubby’s 45th high school reunion in San Francisco at the end of May. So, I’m thinking of that as a goal to help me get on the stick. Basically, it’s two months away. Since I’m not weighing myself anymore, I don’t have any specific weight loss goal in mind. It’s really just a matter of staying on a healthy program and whatever I lose…I lose. Whatever that amount is, I know I will feel better about myself if I’ve been eating healthy and working out regularly, and no doubt I will lose weight (I just won't know how much).

That’s about it for today…I want to again thank all my blogging buddies who have shown so much support for me during my emotional posts over the last few days. I love you all!

  2. Curves or any other fitness membership: you will get out of it what you put into it. If they give a free day pass, take it before joining. Hugs to you!

  4. I just read Saturday's post, and I have to say, I for one wasn't one bit offended. They're just words. I use profanity sometimes in my blog, actually, a lot more often in my blog than in real life. I actually thought it was very funny (and something I would say). And damn it, it's your blog, you can write what you want to write! :)

I don't know much about Curves. My niece goes to one in Fairbanks and she loves it. The thing I don't like about it is you're only allowed a certain amount of time on each machine. Plus, I'm more into free weights than the machines (that's where all the cute guys hang out :). Lots of women love it though, so it might be worth a try. Do a free visit first to make sure you like it.

I like your attitude of eating healthy for the next couple of months instead of a weight loss goal. I'm always setting myself up for failure with my stupid goals. Yours is much more sensible.

  5. No worries about the cursing or the loss of a follower. The followers feature feels like a popularity contest to me anyway. Not, that I'm the only thought that matters on all or any topics.

I love to add a new follower, but I'm of the mind even in my everyday, I rather have quality over quantity.

Again, and as always, big hugs.
