Today was a good day. B & I went on the big walk, then I worked in the yard all day. It was warm and sunny, and I got a lot done, so I have a feeling of accomplishment now. And my tomatoes are doing wonderfully.
This rest of this post is gonna be a mishmash of thoughts...
Wednesday's session with Dr D
A bit more of the usual. I told Dr D I feel like a big "bawl baby" whenever I see her, but she said that's okay. She says I have a lot to be sad about, and her office is a safe place to express that sadness. I did also tell her about my binge on Monday. She pressed me a bit on on what exactly I meant by a binge. When I told her that I had eaten two packages of peanut butter cups, she kind of raised her eyebrows. "That's what you consider a binge?" I think her point was, I am so hard on myself. Two packages of peanut butter cups really doesn't constitute a binge. Just like eating a few cookies a few months ago wasn't really a binge. For me, not being perfect is a binge. But that's not realistic. Dr D gives me a reality check.
Fireworks
I hate them. They are SOOOOOO much freaking work for me. Personal fireworks are banned in the town I work, but not in the surrounding unincorporated area which my fire department serves for fire suppression. So we still need to be prepared for what can happen when idiots use fireworks. I usually spend the better part of the week before July 4th doing paperwork, memos, answering questions from the public, etc, about fireworks. Yuck. Plus B absolutely hates them too. He is a basket case if he even hears one pop far in the distance. On the 4th I always drug him up with Valium, otherwise I'm afraid he'll have a heart attack...
Blackberry?
My current cell phone works okay, but I can't get work emails on it. My boss has a Blackberry Curve, and she said she'd support me to get a Blackberry. I'm looking at the new Blackberry Storm. Does anyone else have one of these? Ms. Trueheart, I know you just lost your Crackberry, and I'm curious what you are getting as a replacement.
Well, that's all that's on my mind at the moment. Nothing very interesting. It's supposed to be nice again tomorrow so I'll probably take B for another walk and work outside some more. I hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend. Take care.

ReplyDeleteI think the Storm is only thru Verizon. I had only heard rumors that the touchscreen wasn't the greatest on it...it is the first blackberry with a touchscreen and you know the first of anything is bound to have some kinks. Also, I have ATT. I have used the Bold and the Curve. I am really stuck right now though because I am not eligible for a discounted upgrade until October and the insurance just finished f-ing me over, so I am left with either having to get a cheaper re-furbished something, suffering with my half-functioning device that has come back to life slightly, or biting the bullet and buying a new $350 blackberry. I would probably go with the Bold over the Curve. There isn't much difference in capabilities, but I like the look and feel better. Blackberry.com is a great place to spend some time surfing around. ReplyDeleteYeah, I was thinking that wasn't much of a binge myself. And I hate fireworks too! We live on a pond that we share with several other neighbors and they like to shoot the fireworks over the pond. But we have a great blue heron and green heron and other wild life around, until the 4th and then we don't see them for weeks it seems.

Pefection is a state of mind that is so dangerous. I see it through the eyes of my daugher (long sad story) and it is going to drive her nuts. I'm really struggling watching her go through this and I'm at a loss. I'm in the mid stages of getting her therapy to figure some things out for herself.

My husband has the "storm"... it works well, it is useful, and only available through Verizon. They are not perfect, as most touch screen phones have flaws, but they are easy to use and the screen is much bigger. If you get one you will either need to get a screen protector, or a case to protect the touch screen. Worth getting I think.
ReplyDeleteI don't like fireworks either... Penelope The Super Chihuahua gets freaked out, she panics and hides under anything she can find. So I usually spend it hugging her... I'm considering taking her with me this weekend to Ross' but not sure because he'll have the kids and she's not good with kids. In my town fireworks are also banned but they fire them anyway... here they don't throw fireworks instead they're mini-bombs knocking out lights, etc.
