Trying something different

Hub and I started this program a few days ago:

We saw the author on Dr. Oz a few weeks ago, and decided to give it a try. I would like to lose these last 10 lbs (they are so stubborn...I get rid of them...then within a month or two, they ever-so-stealthily creep back) and my love handles. Meanwhile, Hub would like to lose 100 lbs. To be truthful, I'm mostly doing it to support him, but the concept is very interesting.

One very early observation is that eating protein first thing in the morning (within 30 minutes of getting out of bed) definitely helps control my craving for carbohydrates later in the day, and my overall mood seems to be much more upbeat.

I'll let you know how it goes.

  1. I've heard of this guy, but nothing about his body plan. I'll be interested in seeing how it works for you both.

  2. I have seen reviews of this and I read his blog from time to time. I'll be interested in hearing how it works out for you both, as well. Good luck.

  4. I did it for about 3 weeks, didn't crave sugar or other white carbs, and lost 1/2 of the weight I gained over the holidays. Overall I found it to be VERY effective!

  5. I've never heard of him or this book, but I can't argue with protein in the morning. And I'm very curious about becoming superhuman! :D

  6. I'm huge on protein in the morning, although not 30 minutes after I wake up. More like two hours, after my workout. Still, it really seems to help keep me satisfied until lunch. I never thought about carb cravings but I guess I don't have any (maybe it's my breakfast).

That's sweet of you to support your hubby. It's hard to get someone else to lose weight. Because it's really all up to them, but I think the support helps.
