A Dog's Purpose

About a month ago, I started listening to audio books. My first download was The Help, which got me hooked. So far I've also listened to Eighteen Acres, and The Kite Runner. All were excellent. I love listening to books on my iPod when I take B to the park, while working around the house or in the yard, or driving to/from work.

Today I just finished listening to A Dog's Purpose: A Novel for Humans. This book was just amazing. If you are a dog lover I definitely recommend this one. If you have ever lost a dog, this book will mean even more to you. Listening to this book made me want to rush home and hug B.

However…caution…do not listen to the end of this audio book while driving (like I did)! You will not be able to see the road through your tears.

Now I am trying to figure out what to listen to next. Does anyone else listen to audio books? If so, do you have any favorites you can suggest?

  1. My husband has listened to a few hundred audio books from the library in the last few years on his long commute to Redmond. He's says it's the only thing that helps him keep his sanity in the traffic. It almost makes me wish I had a longer commute. :)

I LOVE dogs and I'm going to see if I can get that audio book from the library. Sounds like something I'd really enjoy.

  2. A Big Little Life by Dean Koontz. I know this is another dog book, but if you haven't read it, you'll love it. I haven't read A Dog's Purpose yet, although I was about to start it a few weeks ago and then ended up having to put down my golden girl, Mandy. Now, animal books in general are off the table for a while.
The Help was what I would have suggested for you. Didn't you just LOVE it? The narrators we so good, it was like listening to a play. I didn't want it to end. Glad to see another audio book lover. I always tell people I'm too lazy to actually read, but the fact is, I just like to be entertained as much as possible!

  3. I've listened to one audio book and it didn't hook me. Is it any wonder? It was a personal finance book from when I was trying to get myself out of debt - d'uh. Not the greatest thing to start off with.

I've not been around for a while, so please, I beg of you to give B a big kiss and hug from me.
