What a beautiful Friday it was! The sun was shining and the temp was about 70. It’s supposed to be nice all weekend. B and I took a 30 minute walk today, then I went out by myself for another 45 minutes of real cardio. When the week is over, I'll have done 5 days of exercise this week. My food has been really good all week too; weekends things usually get a bit looser, but I'll try to keep somewhat on track. It helps that I'm already seeing positive changes (both physical and mental).
I just ran across Biggest Loser (current episodes) on Fine Living Network (FLN). They rerun the episodes on Fridays and Saturdays. This is great since I was complaining about too many of my favorite shows being on TV at the same time on Tuesday night. So now we can record HK and watch DWTS and then I can catch up with BL by myself on Fridays...hub's not that big a fan of BL.
I picked up my new glasses today from the optometrist. These are specifically for working on my laptop. My eye surgery last year worked great so I can see up close just fine to read, and my far away vision is really good. But apparently I still have a bit of astigmatism in my close-up eye. It’s a little bothersome when I’m on my laptop computer for any
length of time…things get blurry after a while and my eyes get kind of strained. Did you know they can make glasses that are just specifically for laptop computer use? They make the focal point about 18 inches from your eyes. I was a bit skeptical when my eye doctor suggested them, but they are working just great right now. I can work on my computer without squinting, and then look over the top to watch TV. The most expensive part of glasses is purchasing frames, so I used my old frames from when I wore glasses all the time...all I needed was new lenses.
On another subject, I’ve been reading lately about several bloggers who are being attacked by trolls on their blogs. I’ve never had a troll leave a comment here, probably because this blog is so BORING! *lol* Seriously, it must be awful to be trying to do something positive with your blog only to have anonymous assholes leave nasty comments. I just don't understand people some times.
Well, that’s about it for now. I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hmmmm, laptop glasses? I do have reading glasses and sometimes struggle with reading smaller text on screen (but then I just zoom it up), will ask when I next get my eyes looked at if something like these would help.
ReplyDeleteYeah, trolls, I get the odd weirdo and have to put comment moderation on for a while until they give up. It is annoying though.
And, woo-hoo - you are doing great!
Trolls are jerks with too much time on their hands. They need to get a job and contribute, if you ask me. Which you didn't, but anyway. hehehe
ReplyDeleteDidn't know about those laptop glasses. Interesting.
Hope you have a great weekend. Love ya' girly!
Glad to hear you're feeling the added benefit of working out and eating well. It's amazing the difference in how you feel when you do these simply things for yourself. Thumbs up to you!
ReplyDeleteWhenever you find comment moderation on my blog it's because it's been spammed. I've not encountered a troll yet, but have those annoying computer generated gobbly goop messages.
I'm a fan of the belief, if you have nothing nice or supportive to say, shut the hell up!
Hugs to you!
great job getting 5 workouts in!
ReplyDeleteyou're right - the WW spoons aren't cheap - HOWEVER - for me, what makes them worth the price? It's the fact that my family uses them also and I now have them all eating "one" portion of whatever they are taking. Spaghetti is a good example. They each used to fill their plates easily with two portions at a time. Now they fill the spoons and then put it on their plate and often they are satisfied with the one. Oh, and rice! I put the 1/2 cup spoon in the rice (which is only 1/2 a serving) and they are satisfied! And if they go back for "seconds" - it is still only one portion. Perception is everything sometimes. That, my friend could make a master card commercial as PRICELESS! HAHAHA
I think those are wicked cool!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I just picked up my glasses last Tuesday. I almost got the computer glasses too, my husband has them and swears they're the best thing ever. Instead, I got the bifocals without the lines. Ugh! I hate that I need reading glasses.
ReplyDeleteI hate trolls. I've had one nasty comment left by anonymous, and I was terribly upset by it. Stupid really to get upset over ignorant creepy people.
Every since I read your post on those toasted almond ice cream bars I've been thinking about them. I want one so bad! But doubt I could control myself. I had to give up on the sugar-free ice cream. Alas, I have no self-control. :)
