Well, I’m not surprised. I’m up 1.5 lbs from last week’s WI. I’m at 177.5. You can’t have a week were you go to Outback and Chinese buffet and Todai and drink wine and margaritas and not exercise...and then expect to lose weight or even stay the same.
I told hubby that I’d gained, and he did say something that makes sense…it takes a few days to get rid of water weight from salty food. And the food at Todai, although delicious, was pretty salty. To be honest, the filling in the lettuce wraps we had last night was also a bit salty (that’s what made them taste so GOOD! lol). My hands and legs felt really swollen yesterday and still feel that way a bit today. And I do think my leg pain is even related to my legs being swollen.
I'm kind of disappointed in that I was hoping to be under 175 for my 56th birthday, which is Monday. Still, what I’m trying to do is a life change, not a temporary diet/fix.
My normal response to a gain would be to not report it to BLBE, beat myself up all day, obsess about it, either starve myself or go crazy eating crap. Instead, I’m going to report the facts and then today I’m going to drink tons of water, stay OP, take the dogs for our big walk, and (the biggest hurdle for me) I WILL NOT FREAK OUT.
Have a great day, everyone!
Eating out is a killer! The good news is that you should have more control over your eating and exercising over the weekend so you can make your b-day or at least get rid of the 1.5 gain. Good luck, you can do it!
ReplyDeleteSad truth is gains happen to us all on this journey, and they happen for so many reasons.I think we do our fellow travelers a great disservice when we treat the gains as a reason to hide from disclosure. We are human beings, and we live real lives with real instances where we do the "wrong" things for good reasons simply because it is a part of being human. No need to beat ourselves up about this. If you know the reason for the gain, move in. If you don't dig deeper. Mine happens as a wild card beyond my control, and I have decided to let it amuse me and try to outsmart it. Next week will be better, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!
ReplyDeleteGreat attitude! Salt is my mortal enemy #2 (sugar being #1) and I retain fluid so easy. Drinking water will help flush it out.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll have a gain this week, too. The cake incident had me craving sugar all week and I'm finally feeling less like a sugarholic.
Happy early Birthday!! Have a great weekend!
The hard part really is not freaking out. You seem to have a good attitude. I love this quote "Attitude is more important than fact". It's true. If only I could get it thru my thick skull. Have a good weekend, and Happy Birthday if it's your day coming up.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm sitting her dreading tomorrow's weigh in because I have eaten like a crazy person all week. I have craved salt. I don't know what that is about. However, like you I'm just going to face it, report it and move on. I'm not going to freak out over it. Glad your not freaking out. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI forgot HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONDAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe all know the simple weight loss equation less input + more output = weight loss. Simple, yes, but no. Like you mentioned you also have to take into consideration the types of foods. That salt can get you. Make sure you drink LOTS of water to flush the water retention out.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Monday! You're doing awesom!
All you can do is move forward and face a new week with a fresh outlook!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you won't be at 175 for this week, but by your birthday + 1 week I bet you will!
