This and That...

Not much going on. Just thought I'd write a quick post to keep in touch.

I'm just wishing the weather would improve so I could plant my tomatoes. I can't believe how cold it is, in spite of being mid-April. It snowed on Sunday night! This morning it was 35 degrees on my way to work. I heard on the news that it might even get into the 20s (not sure where they were talking about, maybe it wasn't in the Seattle area). At least today the sun was out for a while.

My leg still looks awful, and is covered with big dark bruise spots at the injection sites. But I'm still being patient. The tech said to give it 4 weeks minimum, so I will wait before I start to evaluate whether I'm happy or not.

I find that the longer I stay on the 4HB diet, the less I want to eat. I really don't have much of an appetite for what's allowed, so I'm eating "enough" but not a lot. I wonder if that is part of the idea, you get bored and so you don't eat? Whatever, I don't really miss food during the week, although I do enjoy my cheat day. I did weigh myself today, and I'm down 1 more pound.

Well, sorry for the boring post. Maybe I'll get inspired if the weather improves.

I'll leave you with this photo...Hub & went shopping on Sunday at an Asian market that just moved to a new location. Thought you might like to see this big fish (Opah) that they had in the fish case. It's hard to tell how big he was from the photo, but I think he weighed about 100 lbs!

  1. I've been hearing several people reporting really good results, both on the scale and the whole "not hungry" thing on the 4hb.

I'm anxiously awaiting your final review of your procedure. I have the same thing and have been considering a fix.

  2. I had to giggle to myself a little earlier today when another woman was talking about getting her yogurt for lunch. I like yogurt but I also remember how I would experience hunger pangs throughout the day before 4HB. This diet made the concept of being hungry a rare thing unless it's minutes before I'm scheduled to have the next meal. Congrats on the one pound loss! That fish looks massive.

  3. How can that great big fish swim with those little bitty fins? Don't put the tomato plants out yet! Might be more snow on the lower elevations again this week. I planted some strawberry plants yesterday and am sort of scared to go check on them today. We were joking about running an electric cord out there and putting in the heating pad for them last night. Will it ever warm up?

  4. I've just picked the last of my tomatoes. Sigh. Winter is on the way on this side of the world. Don't put your plants in too early, you don't want to lose them to a late frost.

  5. Okay, you've convinced me. I'm going to go buy the book today on the 4HB. You're making it sound worth a try. But is this the book: The 4-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman?

I'm sure you're leg will be better soon. I think those things just take time.

About this crummy weather, good Lord, enough already! I've just about had it. Puts me in a really ill frame of mind. Although yesterday at about 5pm the sun was shining, for the first time in what felt like weeks. My husband and I went for a little walk and just reveled in the sunshine. It was cool, but just seeing the sun felt wonderful.

Take care (and you're NEVER boring).

  6. Hi Grace! Sorry I haven't blogged much lately, but work has been overwhelming and I feel like my posts would be too boring - work, sleep, work, sleep. That's about it.

It's hard to be patient with medical stuff, I think. Just hang in there.

I'm with Diana, I'm going to get that book :)

That's a whopping fish! Great picture.

  7. Hi, Grace :)
The photo of that fish is almost frightening! I wouldn't even know how to fix something like that. Truly hope your leg looks and feels better soon.
