Snapping Jaws of Death

This and that
I'm still worried a bit about my foot...we want to do sightseeing on those days we are in port and I'm concerned that if I have pain, it will hold us back. I just got my new orthotics from the podiatrist...they are amazing, by the way. I definitely recommend that if you have plantar fasciitis, don't suffer and wait for 9 months like I did...get some orthotics right away. Also I got some new sturdy Nike's so I'm hoping to keep the pain away or at least at a manageable level.
We are still babysitting Kermit and Olive, they will go home on Sunday morning. They are sweet but don't seem to be quite as intelligent as Buster, especially Kermit...who is truly a dim bulb. The only way I can describe it is...they are much more "dog-like" than Buster. Maybe I'm just a proud mom, but Buster is very human; he's like a little man in a dog's body. You can almost see him thinking about things, analyzing, pondering...whereas Kermit and Olive just seem to react...their lives revolve around food and walks and not much else.
We have a housesitter coming in (just to house sit...Buster will be going to stay with Olive and Kermit), a friend who is in transition and was looking for a place to stay temporarily. So I've been trying to get the house ready for him. He is really glad to have someplace to stay for 3 weeks, and it will be nice to have someone here just to keep an eye on things while we are gone, water the plants, etc.

I've been sticking to the low carb lifestyle pretty closely and it's amazing how much your appetite reduces after about a week. I find myself forgetting to eat, and when I do eat, I get full quickly. I swear, carbs are poison to me (and Hub too). Hub and I are doing this plan together, so it's a lot easier. I've definitely lost weight, although I have no idea how much since I don't weigh myself. I really do feel better eating like this, so I'm going to try to do low-carb for as much of the cruise as possible.
Well, it's raining pigs and chickens, but time to take the dogs outside before we go to bed...I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Dog Days
The week has been devoted to dogs...
Three dogs are definitely more work than an "Only" dog!
Thank goodness they are all small...
but the fact is...they are all really good...
so I can't complain
Buster baring his teeth...be afraid, be very afraid!
| Olive sleeping...she snores LOUDLY |
Buster, Kermit and Olive, walking in the park...
handling 3 leashes at a time can get complicated!

We'll do it again tomorrow because...tomorrow is another day for dogs!
